Mary Cothonneau focuses her practice with on general litigation with an emphasis on retail claims including slip and fall, negligent security, dram shop, and other matters affecting retailers.

Mary Cothonneau is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she served as an Associate Editor-in-Chief on the South Carolina Law Review. Mary Cothonneau joined the firm after clerking for a Federal District Judge for the District of South Carolina. Before that, she spent six years as a litigator with a South Carolina-based business and litigation firm.

A native of Sumter, South Carolina, Mary Cothonneau has called Columbia home since she attended the University of South Carolina for her undergraduate studies, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in English and a Bachelor of Arts in history. Mary Cothonneau enjoys being active in the community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Junior League of Columbia and the Young Professional Auxiliary for Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina. She is also attends First Presbyterian Church.
